Once Again the Terps Set a Season High

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - For the third time in as many meets, the Maryland gymnastics team scored a season-high total, but fell to No. 12 Penn State, 196.500 - 195.500, Saturday night at Rec Hall. The Terps' 195.500 is tied for the 23rd-highest score all-time.

Maryland's performance on vault helped spur the squad to a season high total. The Terps totaled 49.200 led by junior Ally Krikorian's career-high 9.925, which tied her for second, to lead a trio of Terps that finished in the top five. Sophomore Katy Dodds and senior Kyra Phillips tallied a season-high 9.900 and 9.850, respectively, to place fourth and fifth.

The Terps scored 49.100 on floor led by Dodds who placed second on floor with a season-high 9.900. Krikorian tied for third with a 9.850.

On beam, freshman Shannon Skochko tallied a career-high 9.800 to tie for third with junior Briana Melander. Freshman Stephanie Giameo tied for fifth with a 9.750.

Sophomore Karen Tang tied for fifth on bars with a 9.825 and sophomore Elizabethe Manzi placed eighth with a 9.775.

Next week, the Terps head to Pittsburgh, Pa., for the EAGL Championships.
