ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference announced the preliminary seeds for the 2015 Big Ten Wrestling Championships, which are set for March 7-8 at Ohio State, and the Maryland wrestling team features eight seeded competitors heading into the tournament.
Senior heavyweight Spencer Myers heads up the Terps' contingent as the seventh-seeded heavyweight in the tournament. Former NCAA qualifiers redshirt junior Geoffrey Alexander (133) and sophomore Shyheim Brown (141) are ranked 11th and 12th, respectively at their weight classes.
157-pound junior Lou Mascola checks in at No. 10 in his bracket.
The pre-seeds, as voted on by the conference's coaches, rank the top eight wrestlers in two weight classes, along with all 14 starters in eight weight classes due to the Big Ten receiving eight or more NCAA Championships qualifier allocations in those classes.
