ROSEMONT, Ill. – Maryland senior right-handed pitcher Taylor Bloom was named the Big Ten Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Bloom shutdown Tennessee over seven shutout innings and tied a career high with nine strikeouts. The Severna Park, Md., native did not walk a batter and scattered six hits as the Terps defeated the Volunteers 4-0.
Maryland returns to action Wednesday at William & Mary with action scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. Fans can live the action live on the Maryland Baseball Network.
