COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Maryland Gymnastics team earned a 195.250 final score in a victory over Central Michigan (194.325) and loss to Ohio State (195.500). 

"I'm really proud of this team," said head coach Brett Nelligan. "Obviously not the outcome we wanted but I love the way they battled all the way to the end."

Maryland opened the evening strong on bars earning a team score of 49.125, the second highest bars score of the season. Freshman Aleka Tsiknias led off for the Terrapins, earning a 9.800. Senior Tiara Wright set a season-best 9.875 followed by anchor, junior Audrey Barber who earned a 9.900. 

The Terrapins then headed to beam earning a 48.075 with Wright sticking her gainer pike dismount for a 9.800 score. Maryland followed on floor earning a team score of 48.800. The two highest scoring routines came from freshmen Reese McClure (9.800) and Emma Silberman (9.800). 

Maryland ended the meet on a strong note posting a season-high 49.250, the Terrapins second-highest vault score since 2013. McClure led off on the event earning a 9.8 followed by Silberman (9.725) and Galuber (9.800). Glauber's 9.800 was a career-high. Farina notched a 9.850 in her homecoming followed by Barber and sophomore Alexsis Rubio who both earned career-high 9.900s. 

The Terps return home next week to face Big Ten rival Illinois on SuperBowl Sunday at 2 p.m. The meet will be available to watch on Big Ten Network.
