COLLEGE PARK, MD – The Maryland wrestling team battled but ultimately fell to the No. 2 Penn State Nittany Lions in its first conference matchup of the season, 46-0. The Terps (3-3, 0-1 Big Ten) competed in front of one of their biggest crowds in years as a total of 2,273 fans packed the XFINITY Center Pavilion.
The 2,273 fans are the most inside the XFINITY Center Pavilion this athletic season, surpassing the 1,828 fans that saw the Maryland women's volleyball team takedown the then No. 2 and eventual national champion, Wisconsin Badgers.
Fresh off of winning the 184-pound Southern Scuffle Championship last weekend and being named the Big Ten Wrestler of the Week, No. 12
Kyle Cochran dropped a hard-fought 19-7 contest to No. 1-ranked Aaron Brooks.
