COLLEGE PARK, MD — Jonathan Donville dashed down the Jones-Hill House turf, moved past several Albany defenders and rifled in his third goal of the morning.
Donville had a hat trick, and the first quarter wasn't even over yet. It was the start of a particularly dominant performance by No. 1 Maryland men's lacrosse, which powered past Albany, 24-6. The 24 goals are the most Maryland has scored in a game since beating Radford, 26-3 on March 21, 1995.
While the Cornell transfer graduate student's three goals were second among the hardshells' offense, Donville was far from the only Terp to score. Thirteen different players accounted for Maryland's 24 goals, including the first four goals of Daniel Kelly's career.
Logan Wisnauskas' six points on two goals and four assists led the team. He was among eight Terps with multi-goal games.
