Incoming Terp Named ABCA High School All-American

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Incoming Maryland baseball student-athlete Joey McMannis was named a third team national High School All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association, the organization announced.

The 2023 Gatorade Maryland Baseball Player of the Year, earns the honor after a stellar campaign which saw him lead Catoctin High School and Frederick County in numerous statistics both on the mound and at the plate. McMannis finished top-two in the county in every major statistical category including hitting .500 with nine home runs and 34 RBIs. A two-way star, McMannis, also averaged 13.5 strikeouts per game while earning a 7-1 overall record and an impressive 0.51 ERA. The no. 8 overall recruit in the state of Maryland according to Perfect Game, McMannis comes to Maryland as one of the top players in the state.

The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), founded in 1945, is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level.
