Swope's Take
"The goal is you always want to come out with a series win", said head coach Matt Swope. "The first two days we got two wins, but I really wasn't pleased with the effort coming out today trying to get the sweep. Their guy did a really good job keeping us off balance. He's an older guy who knows how to pitch and has pitchability. We couldn't get much going against him early on. Made a punch there late, but we are still pleased to come out with the series win."
Terp Debuts
- Meade Johnson got the start on the mound to make his Terrapins debut. Johnson went 3.1 innings and struck out four.
- Catcher Charlie Glennon joined Johnson, getting his first start of the season as well as making his Division I debut. He recorded the Terps' only extra-base hit with a double.
- Alex Walsh came on in relief of Johnson in the bottom of the fourth for his Terrapins debut. He threw 2.2 innings and struck out two batters.
- Huntingtown native Evan Smith made his debut for the Terps in the seventh. The Freshman lefty went one inning and struck out a batter.
- Freshman right-hander Duke McCarron made his debut by entering to start the eighth inning. McCarron would finish the inning and pick up his first career strikeout.
