ON McCOY - Returns to the squad this season after opting for a redshirt season last year to concentrate on academics ... he returns as the likely starter at point guard, given his exceptional ball handling and dependable decision making ... he can stick the open jumper, but his quickness makes him a constant threat to drive ... defensively, he is one of the team's most active players and should fit into Gary Williams' scheme effectively ... the year off paid the desired dividends as he was accepted into Maryland's School of Business this past summer ... despite the layoff, he kept his basketball skills sharp and was selected to play with a team of ACC all-stars on a tour of Greece ... unfortunately, McCoy injured an ankle in a pick-up game the day before the team was due to depart and he was unable to make the trip.
