#3 Terps Head to Rutgers for Sunday Night Matchup

#3 Maryland (9-2, 1-1) vs. Rutgers (6-5, 1-1)

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The No. 3 Maryland lacrosse team (9-2, 1-1) will travel to Pistcataway, N.J. for its first Big Ten road game vs. Rutgers (6-5, 1-1) on Sunday, April 14. The game will faceoff at 7:00 pm and will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.

STORYLINES BY THE NUMBERS

2 – Maryland's first attack line tandem of Jared Bernhardt and Logan Wisnauskas has been spectacular for the Terps this season, with both averaging over five points per game. They are just one of three duos from the same team averaging over five points a game, and became the Terrapin first duo to score eight points in the same game since Bob Boneillo and Terry Kimball (vs. Brown, 1978).

3 – Sophomore Logan Wisnauskas delivered his third eight-point game of the season when Maryland beat Michigan on April 6, joining Bob Boneillo (1979) and Connor Kelly (2018) as the only Terps with three eight-point games in the same season.

5 – Junior Jared Bernhardt has emerged as one of the most dynamic scorers in the country this season, posting a hat trick in five consecutive games for the Terps. Bernhardt is one of three Terps to reach five games with a hat trick since 2000, joining Joe Walters (2004 – 5 games) and Andrew Combs (2001 – 7 games) on the list.

11 – After totaling just two points in the team's first five games, senior Will Snider has emerged as a reliable offensive weapon for the Terps since notching his first career hat trick at Notre Dame. Snider has totaled 11 points (7 G, 4A) over his past six outings, which included a goal and two helpers in Maryland's win over Michigan.

22 – Senior face-off specialist Austin Henningsen has now racked up 22 faceoff wins in two different games this season against North Carolina (3/23) and Michigan (4/6). He was named the Big Ten Specialist of the Week after both performances, and is now the only player in school history to record two games of 22+ faceoff wins.

27 – After an eight-goal first quarter barrage against No. 1 Penn State, Maryland's defense settled in holding the Nittany Lions scoreless for 27:57 over the second and third quarters. The scoreless stretch allowed Maryland to climb back into the game, coming within one goal in the third quarter. It was the longest Maryland held an opponent scoreless since shutting out Robert Morris for 39:50 back on March 24, 2015.

50 – With his eight-point performance against Michigan on April 6, Logan Wisnauskas has reached 50 points for the second consecutive season. The Sykesville, Md. native is in a league of his own in the Maryland record books, becoming the first player in program history to record at least 50 points in back-to-back seasons as a freshman and sophomore.

500 – Austin Henningsen is just four faceoff wins away from becoming the fourth player in school history to amass 500 faceoff wins. Henningsen currently ranks ninth in the nation in faceoff winning percentage (64.5%).
