COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The No. 4 Maryland lacrosse team will play the second game of its four-game March home stand Saturday when the Terps host No. 19 North Carolina. The game at Maryland Stadium is slated to faceoff at 4:00 pm and will be broadcast on ESPNU.
STORYLINES BY THE NUMBERS
4 – Freshman Kyle Long had a breakout game for the Terps on March 3 at No. 17 Notre Dame, recording a career-high four points on two goals and two assists. The goals were the first of his collegiate career, while the Springfield, Pa. native has posted back-to-back two-point showings vs. Albany and Villanova. Long was a 2018 Under Armour All-American coming out of Springfield High School, recording 400 career points and 300 assists.
6 – Sophomore Bubba Fairman posted a career-high six points vs. Villanova on March 16, scoring a career-best four goals while adding two assists in Maryland's 17-7 win. Fairman ranks third on the team in points (22) this season.
8 – Junior Jared Bernhardt has a career day at Albany on March 9, recording a career-high eight points on five assists and three goals. The five assists were also a career-high, as Bernhardt became the second Terp to finish with eight points in a game this season. Sophomore Logan Wisnuaskas finished with a career-high eight points against Navy on Feb. 23 (3 G, 5 A).
8.95 – Fifth-year senior goalie Danny Dolan has been a lynchpin in the net for the Terps this season in his first year as the team's starter, ranking eighth in the country in goals against average (8.95). He's also in the top-15 nationally in save percentage, ranking 15th (55.4%).
9 – Maryland had contributions from up and down the lineup in its 17-7 victory over Villanova, with nine different players recording a goal. It was the most goal scorers for the Terps in a game this season, and the most in a single game for Maryland since 11 players scored in a 19-5 win over High Point on February 18, 2017.
16 – Sophomore Logan Wisnauskas has emerged as a deadly setup man for the Terps in 2019, leading the team with 16 assists. The Sykesville, Md. native has already surpassed his 2018 total (15) in seven games this year, and has posted multi-assist outings in all but two games this season.
22 – Maryland held its opponent to under 10 goals for the sixth time this season with its 17-7 rout of Villanova, extending the team's winning streak to an incredible 22 games when holding opponents to 10 goals or less. 10 goals has been the magic number for John Tillman on both sides of the ball during his tenure at Maryland, holding a 95-11 record when opponents score less than 10 and a 97-11 mark when the Terps score 10+ goals.
25 – Junior Jared Bernhardt became just the 25th Terrapin all-time to reach 80 goals after scoring three times against Albany on March 9. He eclipsed 100 career points as a Terrapin with his first goal of the game against #16 Colgate on February 19, and now has 124 points (84 G, 40 A) in 45 career games played (T-30th at UMD), and will continue to move up the all-time scoring list as the season progresses.
